I am headed out today to celebrate my good friend Patty’s birthday. We’re going to lunch in a cool little town that’s famous with the “horse crowd.” Living outside of DC, I am so lucky to have interesting places to visit within a radius of fifty miles. As I recall, last year we celebrated Patty’s birthday by visiting a distillery that produces something called “White Lightening”. It was a fascinating tour but after seeing what’s in this stuff my souvenir bottle sits, still unopened on the shelf…
I made this card from papers I had in my scrap pile. I liked the soft colors and vintage look after adhering the doily. That was actually from a package I found at the dollar store intended for cake decorating!
I just wrapped Patty’s gift and it is something I would SOOOOO like to keep. It’s a cupcake holder from Williams Sonoma found last weekend. I can just see this packed full of my Sizzix cupcake washcloths sitting ready on my powder room sink when guests come into town for my daughter’s wedding. Oh well… I’m sure she will let me me borrow it back. What are friends for!
